Vintage is a statement that was made timeless long ago.
Each of us has at least couple of vintage items in our closets, because this part of is imminent. I dote on consignment shops shopping. I cannot even convey all the emotions and enthusiasm I experience when I realize that I have 2 hours of rummaging through the myriad of things infused with styles from different decades. Yes, that is how I love vintage. But when it comes to vintage, I have one rule, that I always attempt to follow. And it is mixing your vintage with a stark and superb accessory to sharpen the too-smooth edges and to supply a sense of class. All-vintage looks may look a tad outdated nowadays: too billowy or long or frilly in some places. So it is important to make it up by making vintage and modern chic collide under the right angle. Hence to add specificity of shapes by belting up too loose dress, or to edge it up with beautifully crafted statement jewelry, or to grab a polished designer handbag for effortless chic. Anything that you feel will elevate your look. Just give rein to your styling skills and be confident about your modus operandi of being elegant.
Reverting to my outfit: I belted up this vibrant multi-colored oversized ( believe me, super oversized ) cardigan to add a silhouette, added a matching element with tri-color earrings and updated the whole outfit with a snazzy versatile bag.
